MAX "ULTIMATE CHALLENGE", 3/28/06 (PPV)

Another big card for Pro-Wrestling MAX.

One of the biggest news items of the show was the tag team matches. All the tag matches were extremely competitive with each going over 25 mintues. Any team in MAX could be a threat to the Super Warriors tag team titles.

Another big news item was the rematch between Kazuma Hamada and N-GEN. Still furious over the press conference, Hamada had something to prove in his rematch with N-GEN. Hamada dominated from the opening bell to the end eventually finishing off N-GEN with his clutch overhead slam, Around the World.

Tiger Hero also looked very dominating as he defeated AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight champion, Shuji Kondo. Kondo, surprisingly didn't have any fellow Voodoo-Murder members at ringside.

Speaking of Voodoo-Murders, Chuck Palumbo had to be replaced on the card due to him returning to WWE. He was replaced by the returning Hannibal Kong, who was pinned after a grueling non-tile tag team match. Dan Eaton left the ring on his own after the match, perhaps meaning that things still aren't great between Kong and TOKYO DARK.

In the shocker of the night, Devil Mitsu was able to defeat the Great Muta in a wild and violent brawl. Mitsu pinned Muta after a chair attack and a powerbomb variation. Could things be looking up for Mitsu?

Genichiro Tenryu made another successful defense of the MAX World Heavyweight title by defeating ZERO1-MAX member, Masato Tanaka. Tenryu is by far the most dominating champion yet in Pro-Wrestling MAX. Tenryu said backstage that if he has to attack people in press conferences then so be it, as he feels his match was overshadowed.

The big announcement everyone was waiting for happened after the 5th match. The mystery participant in the Crash Carnival is KENSUKE SASAKI. Full lineups will be announced soon.

1. The Chase Brothers beat Masato Yamashita & David Wright (32:03) when Derek Chase made Wright submit to a front face lock.
2. Terry Jaa beat Taiji Ishimori (5:05) via referee stoppage after multiple grounded knee strikes.
3. Terry Butcher beat T-800 (10:55) with a Decapitation Lariat.
4. Hiromichi Takada & Taiki Fujiwara beat Steven Simpson & Tony Royal (29:06) when Fujiwara pinned Royal after an STO Bomber.
5. Kazuma Hamada beat N-GEN (7:09) with Arould the World.
6. Kaz Hayashi beat RAVE (16:14) with a german suplex hold.
7. MAX World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Tiger Hero (c) beat Shuji Kondo (10:02) with a tiger driver (2nd defense).
8. Super Warriors beat Dan Eaton & Hannibal Kong (36:15) when Beast pinned Kong with a schoolboy.
9. Grudge Match: Devil Mitsu beat Great Muta (11:37) with a cross arm sitdown powerbomb.
10. MAX World Heavyweight Title: Genichiro Tenryu (c) beat Masato Tanaka (11:26) with a brainbuster (2nd defense).

Press Conference Notes

- Hiromichi Takada said he was very happy with the first XJPW card, especially because all three XJPW members were winners. Takada said that he doesn't know when the next card will happen, but he hopes to have a rematch with Katsuyori Shibata.

- Kazuma Hamada said that with his win over Kaz Hayashi and the current MAX World Jr. Champion, Tiger Hero, he should be next to get a title shot after Shuji Kondo. He said he is happy that MAX has granted a rematch between himself and N-GEN and that will be prove that he should be a challenger when he destroyes N-GEN in the rematch.

- A MAX offical then mentioned that RAVE and fellower STRiKER Terry Jaa could also be two Jr. title contenders.

- Tiger Hero then spoke and angered many in the process. He said that he is still furious over the fact that juniors would not be on every card in the heavyweight Crash Carnival tournament tour. He said that in protest he would not defend the title against any member of MAX until he wants. He then gave a prediction on the match between N-GEN and Kazuma Hamada, "N-GEN winss". A furious Hamada got out of his chair and attacked Tiger Hero, but they were pulled apart and taken away from the conference. Hiromichi Takada than got on a microphone and apologized on behalf of Tiger Hero.

- A MAX offical quickly closed the conference before saying that Hannibal Kong is still under contract with Pro-Wrestling MAX, but is having problems with his fellow partners in TOKYO DARK. He also announced that the mystery participant in Crash Carnival would be announced at Ultimate Challenge.
